What's new with Windows

1. Agent-driven password policies

Take greater control over how password policies are enforced on your Windows devices.

a) You can now choose to apply password policies using the Scalefusion MDM Agent instead of the traditional Windows CSP (Modern Management) approach.

b) Agent-based password policies unlock additional controls to help strengthen password compliance across your organization.

You can now:

• Configure the minimum password age to prevent users from changing their passwords too often.

• Configure the maximum password age to enforce users to change their passwords based on the compliance policy.

• Set password expiry reminder, defining the number of days before which the user should be prompted to change the password.

• Limit accounts with blank passwords to local console logins, helping reduce the risk of unauthorized remote access.

Configure your preferred password policy method under Utilities > Global Settings > Windows Settings.

c) Easier management of password policy overrides

Managing multiple password policy variations is now simpler.

Password policy overrides have been moved from Device Profiles to Advanced Configurations, making them easier to organize and maintain.

Existing profile-level password policies are automatically migrated as part of this update, so you can continue managing them without additional effort.

d) Additional password policy enhancements

Strengthen account security with new account lockout controls.

You can now:

• Configure the number of failed sign-in attempts before an account is locked

• Set an automatic account unlock duration after lockout

These settings are available regardless of whether you're using Windows CSP or the Scalefusion MDM Agent to enforce password policies.

2. Unlock user accounts remotely

No need to wait for users to regain access manually.

You can now unlock Windows user accounts that have been locked and reported by the Scalefusion MDM Agent directly from Device Details > User Account Management.

3. Windows improvements

Winget-based application patches are now reported more accurately, giving you better visibility into patch deployment across your Windows devices.

Improvements to the macOS MDM Agent

1. Accurate license status during the trial period

Accounts with a valid license in the trial period will now see the correct license status in the MDM Agent.

2. Improved User Activity reporting

User Activity reports now display device usage more accurately. This fixes an issue where activity duration could incorrectly exceed 24 hours.

3. Better visibility for scheduled OS updates

Users will now be notified before installing an optional macOS update if an OS update has already been scheduled or enforced by the IT admin.

This helps avoid update conflicts and keeps users informed before they proceed.
