Important update: Changes to disabling the Settings app on Android devices
1745503340378
Starting with Android 15, Google has restricted the ability to disable the Settings app on Company-Owned Android devices. This affects Scalefusion configurations applied via Agent Mode.
What changes:
The “Disable Settings” option in Device Profiles will no longer work on Android 15 and above.
Some OEMs may also enforce this restriction on Android 14, making the feature ineffective even on those devices.
What this means for you:
You will still see the option on the Scalefusion dashboard, but it will not apply to affected devices.
No errors will be shown, and the devices will simply ignore the restriction.
What we recommend:
Review and update your Device Profiles for devices running on Android 15 or higher.
Since this is an OS-driven change, adjust your EMM policies and security settings to restrict user access to various settings with the Settings app.
Alternatively, consider using Kiosk mode if you want to limit user access to only specific apps.
